What Animals We Treat

We work with a wide range of animals, including:
Dogs and cats
Horses and ponies
Small animals such as rabbits and ferrets
Larger animals including alpacas and donkeys

Each animal is unique, and care is always adapted based on their size, condition, and comfort level.

What Animal Chiropractic Can Help With

Animals can experience a wide range of physical stresses—from everyday activity and aging to injury, training demands, and post-surgical recovery. Because they can’t tell us what’s wrong, these issues often show up as changes in movement, behaviour, or performance.

Animal chiropractic care focuses on identifying and addressing these underlying issues to improve comfort, mobility, and overall function.

Animal chiropractic care can help with a variety of conditions, including:
Stiffness or difficulty getting up and down
Arthritis and age-related changes
Injuries from activity, training, or trauma
Sprains and strains
Reduced mobility or range of motion
Changes in behaviour or performance
Post-surgical discomfort

Cold red laser therapy may also be used to support healing

Signs Your Animal May Be in Discomfort

Animals can’t tell us when something is wrong—but they often show it through changes in behaviour.

Common signs include:

Limping or favouring one side/leg
Difficulty with stairs or jumping
Reduced activity or reluctance to play
Sensitivity to touch
Changes in mood or behaviour
Decreased performance (for working or sport animals)
If you notice these changes, chiropractic care may help improve comfort and function.

What to Expect During a Visit

Every visit is designed to be calm, supportive, and tailored to your animal’s needs.

For small animals

Appointments take place in a dedicated, pet-friendly treatment room within the clinic. Owners can enter through either the main or side entrance, and each visit begins with a full history and assessment, followed by a clear explanation of findings and a recommended care plan. Treatment may begin on the first visit or be introduced gradually, depending on your animal’s comfort level.

For larger animals

Such as horses, care is provided on-site at barns or facilities. These visits include an assessment of movement and overall condition, followed by hands-on treatment adapted to the specific needs of the animal and its environment.

Advanced Care for Performance Horses

For performance horses or more complex movement concerns, we may also incorporate advanced techniques such as Dynamic Adjustments, which assess and treat the horse in motion to better understand how they move under saddle.

A Specialized Hands-On Approach

Our approach is always patient, respectful, and adapted to each animal’s comfort level.

Allowing Time to Adjust

We give animals the time they need to feel comfortable in a new environment, ensuring the experience is calm and stress-free from the start.

Fully Hands-On Care

Treatment is performed using hands-on techniques that are adapted to each animal’s size, condition, and response.

Care at Their Pace

In some cases, treatment may be introduced gradually or delayed to allow the animal to relax and build trust.

This approach helps create a safe, low-stress experience for both the animal and the owner.

How Animal Chiropractic Is Different

Chiropractic care for animals follows the same core principle as human care—restoring proper movement and supporting the body’s ability to function and heal.

However, animals present unique challenges that require a specialized approach. Their movement patterns, anatomy, and daily demands are different, especially for active or working animals

This includes factors such as:

Because of this, every treatment is adapted based on how the animal moves, responds, and functions in its environment.

Results You Can Expect

With consistent care, many animals begin to move more comfortably and show noticeable improvements in how they function day to day. This can include better mobility, reduced stiffness, and a greater willingness to stay active and engaged.

For performance or working animals, care may also support improved movement and responsiveness, along with a faster recovery from injuries. Over time, many owners notice an overall improvement in their animal’s comfort, behaviour, and quality of life.
